Would you recommend Rejuvant Professional to suitable patients in consult?

We are assessing whether to import Rejuvant Professional, a calcium alpha-ketoglutarate (Ca-AKG) supplement, for doctors to recommend at SLAC. Import is straightforward. The evidence is early and the claims we can make are narrow, so we need your view before ordering any stock.

The product in brief

Product

2,000 mg controlled-release Ca-AKG a day

Three tablets a day, from Ponce De Leon Health (US). Prof Brian Kennedy (NUS) is a scientific advisor and board member. The women's formula adds vitamin D3 38 mcg (about 1,520 IU).

Evidence

Two human studies, no placebo, half the dose

Open-label, n = 42: biological age −8 years at about 7 months. Cross-sectional, n = 4,260: −1.8 years, against a clock error of 5.4 years. Both used the 1,000 mg consumer product, with manufacturer-linked authors. No human data at 2,000 mg.

Controlled trial

ABLE at NUS will decide the case

Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 120 planned, 1 g Ca-AKG (NCT05706389). Main data collection ended Aug 2025. Muscle, bone, lifespan and skin findings are otherwise preclinical; no human study of oral AKG on skin.

Regulatory

Import in about 3–6 weeks

A qualifying health supplement needs no HSA pre-market approval. We would still own quality, Singapore labels and claims, and confirm the formula against HSA limits.

What doctors can say

Advice in consult, never in ads

One-to-one advice in consult is allowed. Doctor endorsements on labels, ads or promotions are not. No anti-ageing, biological age, skin-ageing or disease claims anywhere. SMC guidance on doctors selling health products also applies.

How it would be offered

Consult first, with an optional programme

Base case: you recommend it to existing SLAC patients. Option: PLMC's Longevity Blueprint (AgeQ blood test, grip, InBody; SGD 169) with retests at 6 and 12 months. AgeQ is blood-based; no study shows Ca-AKG moves it. OTC Ca-AKG sells at SGD 38–47 a pack; our price is not yet set.
